Towing our Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) on the beach

IRB's are designed to pick up swimmers from a long distance

The new facility was completed in Christmas 2016

Since then, it has provided the club with a better training space and has a multi-purpose use for both the general public and lifesaving duties

Lifesavers during patrol often use the patrol shelter

The patrol shelter increases response times whether it be a first aid, lost child or rescue operation

Community Education

St Kilda LSC provides courses in the Bronze Medallion, first aid and others too

Rescue Board

The Rescue Board is used to rescue swimmers in danger or in risk; and bring them back to safety. These are primarily used in shorter distances

Our lifesavers patrol during the weekends and public holidays

Patrol Shelter

The Patrol Shelter houses many of our resources that lifesavers rely on during patrols. It includes tubes, flippers, rescue boards and sometimes first aid response kits

All Terrain Vehicle (ATV)

The ATV is primarily used for towing our beach resources such as the shelter and IRB

Our facility

This new facility gives St Kilda LSC the opportunity to support multi-agency operations as well as public functions. Our active club members can also enjoy using the gym equipment and gear throughout the year

Surf Boat Rowing

The competition for Surf Boat Rowing is one of the largest in Surf Life Saving

The typical configuration is 5 people

One being the sweep and the other four are the crew

The objective

Each boat has to go around a mark or a certain length, turn back and be the first back. This takes a lot of skill, practice and physical endurance
